Adjacent to the properties are seven acres of woodland, through which flows Greendale Beck from the tarn high in the mountains to the north. Fell walkers and mountaineers alike will be attracted to the impressive peaks within easy reach of here, namely Great Gable, the Scafells, Pillar and Steeple, whilst for the less energetic, there is nearby Eskdale with its miniature railway to Ravenglass, as well as Muncaster Castle, Calder Abbey and other places of historic interest. Also golf, fishing and pony trekking may be enjoyed in this area and the sandy beaches at the coast are only 8 miles away.
